Signature verification completed, petitions qualified to the November General Election ballot announced. Measures include increasing corporate minimum tax and creating and outdoor school education fund.
Secretary of State Jeanne P. Atkins announced today that signature verification for the 2016 petition cycle has been completed and the following measure numbers have been assigned to the three legislative referrals from the 78th Legislative Assembly and those petitions qualified to the November 8, 2016, General Election ballot. They are:
Measure 94 / Referral 401 (SJR 4) – Amends Constitution: Eliminates mandatory retirement age for state judges.
Measure 95 / Referral 403 (HJR 203) – Amends Constitution: Allows investments in equities by public universities to reduce financial risk and increase investments to benefit students.
Measure 96 / Referral 404 (HJR 202) – Amends Constitution: Dedicates 1.5% of state lottery net proceeds to funding support services for Oregon veterans.
Measure 97 / Initiative 28; determined to contain 95,272 valid signatures – Increases corporate minimum tax when sales exceed $25 million; funds education, healthcare, senior services.
Measure 98 / Initiative 65; determined to contain 101,302 valid signatures – Requires state funding for dropout prevention, career and college readiness programs in Oregon high schools.
Measure 99 / Initiative 67; determined to contain 93,102 valid signatures – Creates “Outdoor School Education Fund,” continuously funded through Lottery, to provide outdoor school programs statewide.
Measure 100 / Initiative 68; determined to contain 113,121 valid signatures – Prohibits purchase or sale of parts or products from certain wildlife species; exceptions; civil penalties.
