The City of Redmond is working to update its Transportation System Plan (TSP). The TSP identifies various modes of travel and plans for system improvements and sets specific goals and policies to guide transportation growth over the next 20 years. On Wednesday, March 18 from 4-6pm, community members are invited to Redmond City Hall to share their thoughts on Redmond’s TSP and how it may best meet their future transportation needs.

“We hope to reach as many people as possible and seek their comments about our community’s transportation system,” said Deborah McMahon, Planning Manager. “The Redmond TSP is a primary element of the community and serves all citizens.” City leaders use the TSP to prepare for and manage population growth; guiding public investments; and informing decisions regarding infrastructure improvements.
The current City of Redmond TSP was adopted in 2008. This project will reflect changes that have occurred to the city, county and state since 2008 and provides a 20-year horizon for transportation planning. The project will update all elements of the current TSP and may identify potential amendments to the Comprehensive Plan, City Development Code and other implementing documents.
Redmond has grown to 30,000+ and is expected to grow to more than 50,000 by 2040. The challenge — and opportunity — is to create strategies that preserve and improve assets like Redmond’s thriving industrial businesses, the downtown core, distinct neighborhood identities and access to outdoor recreation amenities like the Dry Canyon.
