Join us for a talk with rock-star turned OSU soil scientist James Cassidy.
About the Topic
For gardeners, farmers and armchair philosophers, come explore how soils form, what nutrients are, how soils store water and nutrients, and how plants and animals carry traces of soil within them. Cassidy will also discuss the global importance of soil conservation.
About the Presenter
James Cassidy is an award-winning instructor and soil expert in OSU’s College of Agricultural Sciences. He is the founder of OSU’s two-acre student-run farm in Corvallis and presents about soil to native plant societies, arborist associations and Master Gardener organizations throughout the U.S. Prior to his academic career, Cassidy played bass for Information Society, a popular ‘80s band best known for its hit, “What’s on your mind? (Pure Energy).”
