Social Commerce Fashion Start-Up, Ruby Ribbon, looks to Expand its Presence in Central Oregon

Ruby Ribbon, Inc, a California-based social commerce fashion company will add Bend onto its national Dream Big Tour on August 7 at Tetherow Resort, Media Room at 6pm. The Tour aims to introduce entrepreneurial, stylish women to the brand and share the story of the company’s hyper-growth over its two years in the market. It will also introduce its new Fall Collection, which launches nationally that same week. Bend native, Vivien O’Connor, is promoted to senior stylist.

Ruby Ribbon sells a unique line of women’s apparel via independent saleswomen, called Stylists, who sell the product at pop-up retail events in living rooms across the country.  It has been described as “the multimillion dollar fashion start up that you have never heard of” by the Silicon Valley Business Journal and has been featured in national publications such as WSJ, CNN, Woman’s Day and SELF.

Vivien O’Connor, Bend’s first stylist and one of the company’s consistently top performing national saleswomen, is spearheading this local event. O’Connor was recently promoted from stylist to senior stylist. A senior stylist must sell at least $1,500 of product per month along with sponsoring and mentoring another stylist.

O’Connor’s success at Ruby Ribbon has been fueled by the company’s own explosive growth due to high demand for its unique product line. Ruby Ribbon’s mission: ensuring that women of all ages, shapes and sizes look and feel their best, peeked O’Connor’s interest and gave her the motivation she needed to become one of the company’s leading saleswomen.

Deborah Uri, the co-founder and VP, marketing and operations for Ruby Ribbon, will join O’Connor on August 7. Uri, who has strong ties to Bend though lives in New York City, introduced O’Connor to the brand one year ago at a private sales event. “We are thrilled to expand our stylist base in Central Oregon. We see this area full of opportunity for women like Vivien who are very social and well loved in the community, and understand the ground floor opportunity that Ruby Ribbon represents.”
