StrideBox Celebrates First Anniversary in Bend

Founded in 2012, StrideBox is a great way to discover nutrition products and accessories that help runners and other endurance athletes perform better, be healthier and have more fun. Each month a StrideBox subscriber receives a box full of 6-8 different performance nutrition products and accessories shipped direct to their home.

StrideBox is a great way for runners, triathletes, cyclists, and other athletes to discover and integrate new products into their training and competition schedules.

StrideBox, a Subscription Box for runners is celebrating their first year based in Bend. Originally started in the summer of 2012, StrideBox had operated out of Salem, Oregon until August 2013, when the decision was made to bring StrideBox to Bend.

“Bend is just the perfect combination of recreational and entrepreneurial opportunities, so it made sense for both StrideBox and my family to make the move,” said James Erickson, founder of StrideBox. “The active lifestyle supported by the community make it a perfect fit.”

StrideBox sends thousands of boxes nationwide each month and takes pride in working with local vendors and suppliers, including favorites like Picky Bar and Hood River residents, Pocket Fuel. They’ve also got plans to give back to the local community and have already started by donating thousands of dollars worth of product to Caring For Troops in July.

Since taking up residence in Bend, StrideBox has more than doubled the number of subscribers it serves. With this quick growth does come some challenges.

“We’ve grown quickly, and we did have some logistical problems with shipping in and out of Bend, but the business community has proved to be very helpful in suggesting resources and helping out,” James added. “We look forward to growing and being a part of this community for a long time.”
