TDS Telecommunications LLC (TDS) is proud to make a donation to Sleep In Heavenly Peace as part of the company’s new Week of Giving campaign.
The $1,500 donation will help Sleep in Heavenly Peace fulfill its mission of building, assembling and delivering bunk beds to children and families in need. While Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a national organization, the money raised locally stays in the community to help Central Oregon families.
“We thank TDS for their generous donation. These funds will be used to buy materials to build beds for children in need and support our mission of ‘No kid sleeps on the floor in our town.’ Because of TDS’ generosity, there will be 28 children who will wake up Christmas morning in a bed of their very own,” said Joseph Myers, Deschutes County Chapter President, Sleep in Heavenly Peace.
“Helping our community is a core part of our company’s mission. We’re proud to donate to Sleep in Heavenly Peace and help ensure all children have a fully-furnished bed to get a good night’s sleep,” said Monte Axtell, associate manager of field marketing in Bend.
The donation comes as TDS recently rebranded from its former name, BendBroadband. As the company stated in its rebrand announcement, TDS is continuing to invest in the community and be active in supporting local nonprofits with sponsorships and grants. In addition to the Sleep in Heavenly Peace donation, TDS presented a donation Wednesday to Central Oregon Community College’s Season of Nonviolence.
The TDS Week of Giving campaign includes themed giving events being held throughout TDS markets from Monday, Nov. 28 through Friday, Dec. 2. Across the country, TDS is donating to more than 100 organizations this week, over and above previous giving.
“These past few years haven’t been easy, so we wanted to do a little more for the people and organizations who make our communities so great,” said Senior Vice President of Corporate Affairs Drew Petersen.
