Join Us For a Weekend of Symphonic Music!

The Central Oregon Symphony is gearing up for an exciting weekend ahead.

The annual Virginia Riggs Children’s Concert and Instrument Petting Zoo is this Saturday at 9 am, followed by our Winter Concert Series at 7:30pm on Saturday and 2pm on Sunday.

Get ready for a weekend full of symphonic music you won’t forget!

Virginia Riggs Children’s Concert & Instrument Petting Zoo

Named after a former Central Oregon Symphony cellist with a passion for educating young people (and those young at heart), the Virginia Riggs Children’s Concert is fun, educational, and open to all.

Come at 9am for the instrument petting zoo, where children can enjoy an up-close experience with the instruments of the orchestra as symphony musicians play them. There is also the opportunity to try your hand at different instruments and find out where you might have a hidden talent or passion! Afterward, stay for an interactive concert designed with kids in mind.

This event is held at Bend Senior High School and will take place Saturday, February 24, 2024. The children’s concert begins at 10am.

This event is free and open to the public!

Winter Concert Series

We are pleased to perform another work by Louise Farrenc, her Concert Overture No. 2. We will also hear the soulful strains and driving rhythms of Spanish dance music drawn from Manuel de Falla’s ballet, The Three-Cornered Hat. This piece will be narrated live by Lilli Ann Linford-Foreman.

The winners of the Central Oregon Symphony Association Young Artist Competition will be featured in this concert, performing music by Tchaikovsky, Mozart, and Bottesini. You do not want to miss these incredible young talents.

Season tickets are provided with a donation of $60 or more.

Donations are 100% tax deductible.
