Last year, TAO started engaging our stakeholders and elected officials about the resiliency of our region. The COVID era has brought that conversation to the forefront for our businesses, government and community. Skip Newberry, president and CEO of the Technology Association of Oregon, will be leading a series to give updates, collect input and offer recommendations to our executives, elected officials and partners.
RESILIENCY SERIES
Thanks to a generous sponsorship by Portland State University and AT&T, TAO will continue this resiliency series for our stakeholders. This will be a 30-minute call that is structured as both “just-in-time” communication and an “ask-me-anything” format with a guest speaker.

TOPIC OVERVIEW
Featuring Nik Blosser, Chief of Staff for Governor Brown
The COVID-19 crisis is putting a strain on resources and revenues across the private and public sectors, yet the demand for services, solutions, funding and other resources to address the fallout from the crisis is significant. To overcome these resource constraints requires creativity and collaboration spanning all sectors.
Join us for a conversation with Nik Blosser, Oregon Governor Kate Brown’s chief of staff, as we discuss opportunities for public-private innovation to help make Oregon a stronger and more resilient state. During his career, Nik has spent time starting and running companies (CEO and co-founder of Celilo Media Group, which publishes the Chinook Book; Chairman of Sokol Blosser Winery), co-founding and/or chairing business advocacy groups (Oregon Business Association, Renew Oregon) and also serving in the public sector.

Power Pairing — Virtual

These executives are also welcome and encouraged to register women they have identified as emerging leaders who are looking to take that next step in their career.
Beating Burnout
Burnout is a trickster, it sneaks up on those of us who are most committed, most responsible, and most service-oriented.
Burnout is a very real set of physical symptoms, cognitive challenges and emotional reactions that can be debilitating and, in some cases, deadly. It can lead to anxiety, depression, extreme exhaustion, numbness and even suicide. And, it’s on the rise, with up to two-thirds of full-time workers experiencing burnout on the job.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
Following this virtual workshop, participants will be able to identify symptoms of burnout and develop practical actions to begin finding space and joy. The workshop will be broken up into the following four parts:
- High risk for the passionate and committed
- Common symptoms and signs of burnout
- Priorities, resiliency and connection
- Commitment to yourself
WHO SHOULD ATTEND
C-Suite, VP and director-level executive women (and the mentee/emerging leader) from technology companies, start-ups and tech-enabled organizations across the State of Oregon looking to identify signs of burnout, how to combat it, and how to support themselves and others.
