Discovery West’s Tour of {Dog} Homes, is Thursday, July 20, from 4:30-6pm on NW Crossing Drive, across from Pacific Crest Middle School fields to benefit Humane Society of Central Oregon (HSCO).

Bid on seven unique dog homes built by custom home builders from Central Oregon through the online auction . The auction opened July 14 and bidding closes Thursday, July 20, at 5:30pm. This is your chance to bid on these one-of-a-kind dog homes and give your furry friend a haven.

We will have our “Smooch a pooch” booth on location where you can share some love with a few adoptable dogs. While you’re there don’t forget to show your support for the builders and cast your vote for your favorite dog home.

How to bid on a doghouse:

  • Bidding for the doghouses started Friday, July 14.
  • Click here for the bidding website and information about the dog houses

A few things to note when bidding on a dog house:

If you are the winning bidder, your doghouse will be temporarily stored at 181 NE Franklin Avenue until you can arrange for pickup by August 1, 2023.

  • We recommend the company Live Junkless pick up and deliver your new doghouse. You may contact them directly to arrange: livejunkless.com; 541-550-2741
  • Some doghouses may come apart for easier transport, but all have a minimum footprint of 4’x6’; you will want to adequately prepare a space for your new doghouse and think about access to its new location (i.e., gate width, etc.).
  • Once you have arrangements made to pick up and deliver your new doghouse, please contact Valerie Yost at 541-408-7043 or valerie@brooksresources.com to coordinate access at 181 NE Franklin Avenue. Valerie or a colleague will meet your pickup designate to provide access.
  • Doghouses must be picked up by August 1, 2023, unless other arrangements have been made; all doghouses not picked up by August 1 at 5 pm will be donated back to the Humane Society of Central Oregon.
  • A request for tax-deductible donation receipt may be requested from Lynne Ouchida at lynne@hsco.org.
