Houselessness Impact Survey
We’d Like to Hear from You
The Bend Chamber supports City of Bend and Deschutes County’s efforts to help those who are houseless in our community.
We also have heard from employers that activities by some presumed members of the houseless population are impacting public safety, causing property damage and other issues affecting their businesses and customers.
The purpose of this survey is to better understand and measure these impacts as our community works to mitigate them — and to make houselessness rare, brief and non-recurring.

How did the supply chain get so badly disrupted, and when will we see relief?

Bend YP—A Place for Growth, Connections and Community
Bend YP is back in person with strong events that engage young professionals in education and connection.
Kicking off the year was a StrengthsFinder for Teams workshop, facilitated by Joanne Mathews, as a part of the YP DevLabs series. Thirty young professionals completed a pre-workshop questionnaire to determine their strengths, then spent an evening learning how to best capitalize on them within their organizations.

Moving Forward to Actionable Outcomes
We get asked fairly frequently how we will move forward toward actionable outcomes. We’ve boiled it down to four main steps:
- Gather the facts
- Engage in policymaking
- Create employer strategies
- Assist with advocacy
For more details, check out our one-sheet, created to encapsulate the why, where and how of the Workforce Housing Initiative.

Employers—Lend Your Voice
We’ve begun an initiative to create community conversations to address Bend’s workforce (mid-market) housing affordability issue.
We need your help in determining the extent to which unaffordable housing is impacting your ability to hire or retain talent. Please take our short survey and feel free to share the link with other employers.
