6:45 PM Erin Kennedy & Astri Cooper from Aperture Consulting Group: Update on OLCC and OHA Rules, Regulations and Compliance
Erin Kennedy brings with her well over a decade of compliance experience in heavily regulated industries, including telecommunications, healthcare, state and local government, and aerospace-defense. Her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration & Computer Information Systems, combined with her knowledge and application of Lean Six Sigma principles and methodology, extensive experience in continuous improvement, process re-engineering, and data analysis provide her with a unique skillset that allows her to empower cannabis businesses to implement policies, procedures, and practices that promote efficiency, profit, and, most importantly, compliance with rules and regulations. She joined the Oregon Health Authority in early 2014 and helped build the Medical Marijuana Dispensary Program, gaining a unique understanding of the regulatory and logistical pitfalls and opportunities of cannabis businesses. Since leaving the program to create Aperture Consulting in July, 2015, Erin has helped many dispensaries, growers, processors, and wholesalers gain peace of mind and greater success through compliance.
Astri Cooper has 10-years of experience in compliance for the State of Oregon, starting in the Department of Human Resources as a case worker, and later in the Office of Payment Accuracy and Recovery performing fraud investigations. She worked for a year in the Medical Marijuana Dispensary Program as an inspector/investigator before joining Aperture Consulting in January, 2016. She has many years’ experience in networking, facilitating, and auditing and she is skilled at interpreting complex rules and regulations at the local, state, and federal level. Astri has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, along with certifications in Human Resources, Business and Management, and Conflict Management and Mediation, and, prior to working for the State, she worked in retail and account management, all of which provides her with a highly relevant perspective for cannabis retailers. Astri is very motivated to work with cannabis companies during this exciting time.
