Models of the three proposed sculptures for the Murphy Road & Third Street Roundabout will be on display at the downtown Bend Deschutes Public Library from October 12-25. The Art in Public Places committee invites the public to vote on their preference of the three works of art for the Murphy Road & Third Street Roundabout. The sculpture selected will be donated to the public art collection for the City of Bend.

The three finalists were selected from a call to artists that attracted over 130 submissions. The three artists are C.J. Rench from Hood River, Oregon, Amos Robinson from San Diego, California and Leslie Dixon, Mark Baltes and Ken McCall working as a team from Boise, Idaho.

Installation of the public art sculpture that is selected is anticipated to be in the summer 2016.

“Art in Public Places is delighted with the vibrant and interesting proposals submitted by over 100 artists to fill this large roundabout. The location of this new roundabout and the work of art selected will serve as the southern entry into Bend. We look forward to the public’s input while on display at the library,” said Sue Hollern, president of Art in Public Places.
