CarePatrol, the nation’s oldest and largest senior placement organization, is now serving Bend and Eugene and their surrounding areas. Locally owned and operated by Rima Wilson and Carl Johnson, CarePatrol advisors work closely with families to identify seniors’ care needs and assist with finding the most appropriate care options including in-home care, independent living, assisted living or memory care at no cost to its clients.

“Building on our backgrounds in elder care and senior housing, we recognized a need for assisting the growing population of seniors in identifying care options,” said Rima Wilson, certified Senior Care Advisor. “We help guide families through this difficult time, including helping them to understand insurance benefits, identify financial resources and connect with professional and social services.”

CarePatrol’s advisors are all Certified Senior Advisors, a nationally recognized and highly regarded accreditation. Through established relationships with local care facilities, CarePatrol’s advisors are able to identify facilities that will best meet the needs of the families’ loved ones. Utilizing a Level of Care Assessment, CarePatrol’s Advisors base their recommendations on care options that can specifically meet individual needs and preferences.

“We do most of our work when seniors are in crisis,” said Carl Johnson, Senior Care Advisor. “Our role is to provide relief and support through a difficult transition so families can focus on caring for their loved ones.”

Sixty-nine percent of individuals that turned 65 in 2018 will need long-term care in their lifetimes. With a growing senior population, the number of families needing care for their senior members is growing as well. Most families don’t know the options that are available to them, how to identify what level of care is needed, and the resources available to pay for care. CarePatrol is able to assist families in those areas.

CarePatrol was established in 1993 by a medical social worker who recognized a gap in services for families of seniors with increasing care needs. CarePatrol was created to help families identify and access appropriate care and support for their senior members. With 150 franchise partners, CarePatrol is the largest senior placement organization in the country, and in early 2018, was acquired by ComForCare, a premier provider of non-medical in-home care for aging adults. With ComForCare’s private equity partnership with The Riverside Company, CarePatrol is now part of a multi-brand franchise parent company, which has plans for more expansion across the continuum of care for aging adults.
