Are you looking for the newest products and services from local, Central Oregon companies? How about looking for practical advice on how to successfully grow your business and navigate an ever-changing economy? Are you looking for employment, or better employment? Or are you just looking for a way to network better with other business owners in your area?

If the answer is yes to any of these questions, then you will want to make sure to attend the 19th Annual Central Oregon Business Expo and Job Fair, brought to you by U.S. Bank and the Redmond Chamber of Commerce. This year’s Expo takes place Wednesday, April 19 from 1 to 6pm at the Deschutes Fair & Expo Center.

Brand new this year is the addition of a Job Fair to the Expo. BeginRight Employment Services, PrideStaff, MidOregon Personnel Services, WorkSource Redmond and Express Employment Professionals are just a few that will be on site looking to pair quality candidates with quality jobs.

“We’re excited to be a part of the first Industry-Neutral job fair in Central Oregon,” said Matt Ertle, owner of PrideStaff, “It’s kind of revolutionary for the area.”

So if you’re in need of employment, or even looking for better employment, make sure you bring your resume and see what’s available.

Kick off the event by attending our keynote luncheon, sponsored by St. Charles Health System and listen to Redmond Mayor George Endicott’s State of the City Address, which will focus on Redmond’s past accomplishments, and what the city plans to accomplish in the year to come. The luncheon precedes the expo, starting at 11:45am and is $17 to attend. RSVPs are required for the luncheon. Call 541-923-5191 to RSVP

Right after the luncheon, we open the doors for the Expo itself, which brings together hundreds of regional business owners, influencers, and decision makers to network, build relationships and connect with vendors that provide unique products and services. Attendance to the Expo is completely FREE! Be sure to bring your business cards for great giveaways and be ready to make new connections.

Throughout the day there will also be three very informative free workshops, each covering an important part of expanding your business.

First on the docket is Cale Peterson, from Crestcom Leadership Development, with a workshop on Results Driven Communication. Crestcom’s proven leadership training not only helps managers manage more efficiently, but also helps employees relate to leadership more effectively.

The second workshop will be a panel discussion about Creating an Attractive Work Culture. Panelists Steve Curley of COCC, Steve Bettis of Medline ReNewal, Greg Lambert of Mid Oregon Personnel and Debbie Butler from the Oregon Employment Department. The final workshop will be lead by John Meyer, financial advisor at Edward Jones. His workshop about Retirement by Design will explore different methods of effectively saving and investing for retirement. The three workshops will take place from 1:15-2pm, 2:15-3pm and 3:15-4pm respectively.

Finally, as we close out the Expo, we’ll have a roaming MC circulating through the vendors, reintroducing the highlights of the day and announcing raffle winners from each booth. This Business After Hours portion includes appetizers and a no-host bar. It’s the best time of day to add giveaways to the stack of new business connections and resources you’ve already gathered.
