On September 8 at 8am, the High Desert Squadron of the Civil Air Patrol (CAP) will present an Appreciation Award to Leading Edge Jet Center (LEJC). This award is in gratitude for all of the help and support LEJC has given to the Civil Air Patrol High Desert Squadron, and their commitment to our mission and cause.

This award will be presented to Nelson Carrick, general manager of Leading Edge Jet Center, who will be receiving the award on behalf of Leading Edge Jet Center. The presentation will take place at the beginning of the second day of Civil Air Patrol’s annual Mountain Flying Clinic, a two-day event being held over the weekend.

Leading Edge Jet Center has been of tremendous help to Civil Air Patrol in providing the High Desert Squadron with a room to set up Base Operations, has helped to acquire permits to install radio antennae and required equipment and has provided a place to store the Squadron’s airplane and SUV. In addition, Leading Edge Jet Center provides them with secure access to their Mission Base and assists members from other squadrons who show up for various missions and activities.

Several VIPs are expected to be on hand for the award presentation Sunday, including Wing Commander Col. William Ray; Col Rogers Walker, also of Oregon Wing; High Desert Squadron Commander, Lt. 1st. Lt. Jill Simmons; and of course Leading Edge Jet Center General Manager Nelson Carrick.

Leading Edge Jet Center at the Redmond Airport welcomes corporate travelers with their newly- renovated FBO facility, avionics and maintenance offerings and access to car rentals, hotel arrangements and catering.

Civil Air Patrol is the official auxiliary of the U.S. Air Force and is a nonprofit organization with 58,000 members nationwide. Civil Air Patrol’s three-point mission includes Emergency Services, Aerospace Education and Cadet Programs.
