The fight to save Outdoor School in Oregon kicks off this month with a ballot initiative signature campaign. The mission of Outdoor School for All is to secure state funding for the Outdoor School law so that every Oregon fifth or sixth grade student has the opportunity to experience a full week of Outdoor School or similar programming.

To accomplish this, the campaign has submitted an initiative for inclusion on the November 2016 ballot, asking voters to support funding the new law using Oregon Lottery funds. If enough signatures are gathered by July 2016 and the measure passes, funding to qualified programs throughout all Oregon schools could be available as early as mid-2017.

Central Oregon is launching an effort locally to gather 10,000 of the signatures needed to help save outdoor school. If you love Outdoor School, please sign the petition and spread the word.
To help or to sign, please call the local organizer Becca Gilbert 502-876-3888 or becca@outdoorschoolforall.org.
