Educating the homebuilding industry about the benefits of constructing durable, energy efficient, healthier, more environmentally sustainable homes.

The Building Green Council and the COBA Education Committee are bringing the NW Green Building Industry Summit to Bend on Thursday October 11.

Keynote Speaker and instructor for some classes is Mark LaLiberte. As a distinguished trainer, author and consultant, LaLiberte has devoted over two decades to educating the homebuilding industry about the benefits of constructing durable, energy efficient, healthier, more environmentally sustainable homes.

The summit will include 20 classes geared toward consumers, designers, residential and commercial contractors, showcasing best practices in sustainability and new products to achieve those practices. From cash incentives for upgrading an existing home and the Living Building Challenge update to ductless mini-splits and the performance of zero energy homes, the summit will be a rich resource for anyone attending.

Home owners can learn how to prioritize those needed energy efficiency updates and receive cash incentives to reduce the costs. Land owners may consider the best design for their dream home. Designers and architects can learn how to integrate new technologies into these dream homes and contractors can satisfy elective credits in one day. Moreover, the summit is a look into the future of how our building industry will adapt to the needs and demands of consumers while considering our natural resources as we build.

Thursday, October 11, at the West Side Campus, 2051 NW Shevlin Park Road, Bend, OR 97701. The cost is just $50 pre-registration. Go to www.coba.org to pre-register or call us at 541-389-1058 for more information.
