Roz Eaton to Speak at ConnectW: Finding the Super Hero Within

0

If you’re looking to jump start your business this fall and/or tap into your personal power, you owe it to yourself to come to the ConnectW meeting on Wednesday September 21 at 5pm and hear Roz Eaton speak.

Roz, mother of Ashton Eaton, raised an Olympic gold medalist who is as good a man as he is an athlete. That’s saying a lot when you’re talking about the world record-holding decathlete, which makes Aston the defacto greatest athlete in the world. One tiny problem. After Ashton won his Olympic gold medal four years ago, Roz realized that she had helped her son to achieve his dreams but had not done that for herself.

As a single mother, Roz had encouraged Ashton to find the superman within. She helped him explore every single activity that peaked his interest. She surrounded him with mentors and coaches who could broaden his world and give him the encouragement and training he needed. She enabled him to discover who he was and then watched him blossom into a man who exhibited the kind of unshakable confidence that comes from living an authentic life.
In short, after giving him everything she never got as a child, he became everything she wasn’t. Ashton’s winning Olympic gold launched Roz on a journey of reinvention. Over a three-year period, with Ashton’s help, she would finally discover the super hero that lay hidden inside of herself, that same super hero we all have within.

Through stories of raising Ashton—and then raising herself—this one-of-a-kind, funny, self-deprecating and wonderfully wise woman will share how she empowered her son and then empowered herself. What a perfect way for ConnectW—an independent, non-profit organization founded to encourage and support self-directed business women—to welcome you back from vacation and get you revved up again.

Speaking of getting back in the groove, you’ll have an hour to network at the meeting before things officially get under way. ConnectW knows just how powerful networking can be, which is why the organization offers networking opportunities at their Munch and Mingle luncheons on the second Tuesday of the month and at TGIF, a happy hour gathering on the last Friday of every month.

For information about the program as well as networking ConnectW style, contact ConnectW Marketing Chair Janice Silva at marketing@connectw.org or 541-706-1684, www.connectw.org or visit in person.

ConnectW meets at 5pm on the third Wednesday of the month at the Bend Golf & Country Club. Tickets are available on the website. You can attend twice without being a member, but ConnectW is pretty sure you’ll want to join. After all, where else are you going to find such a mix of business opportunities, networking, friendship and fun?
