SCORE-Central Oregon (SCORE-CO), a nonprofit, in fiscal year (FY) 2017-18 mentored for free 42.5 percent more clients than the previous year.

National SCORE Director, Field Operations, Andrew Beamon, calls such growth exceptional. SCORE-CO responded to 295 client requests in FY 2017-18, compared to 207 client requests in FY 2016-17.

SCORE-CO Chairperson John Harris says, “The Bend-Redmond Area in 2016 grew 8.1 percent economically, second nationally. We met small business owners’ demands–engines for this growth.”

The regional chapter added seven new certified mentors in the year to provide free counsel for registered clients. Interested owners and individuals can go to centraloregon.score.org to register, or they can walk in Tuesday nights at the Deschutes Library downtown Bend site to meet a mentor.
