Summer Jobs Fair March 23 in Sunriver

It’s never too early for students, ages 15 and up, to start applying for summer jobs. To help young people begin their summer job search, Sunriver Owners Association will host a jobs fair WednesdayMarch 23, 9 to 11am at the Sunriver Homeowners Aquatic & Recreation Center (SHARC).

The jobs fair will take place in the Dillon Room at SHARC, 57250 Overlook Road, on Wednesday during Oregon spring break.

Job opportunities include pool and tennis attendants, lifeguards (with certification classes available before summer), summer camp counselors, housekeeping, restaurant service,retail and customer service positions.

Nearly 20 Sunriver area businesses will have information booths at the SROA sponsored jobs fair and accept applications from job seekers. Applicants should come prepared to speak with hiring managers and make favorable first impressions.

Businesses that have committed to participating in the March 23 jobs fair include:

• The Sunriver Owners Association’s Recreation Department, which operatesmultiple pools, tennis courts, parks and playgrounds, and hires up to 100 summer seasonal employees.
• Alpine Entertainment, which operates the miniature golf course, bumper cars, bouncy houses, and trackless train in The Village at Sunriver.
• Village Threads and The Lazy Daisy, women’s clothing and home decorating boutique stores.
• Sunriver Sports, which sells, rents and services bicycles, skis and snowboards.
• Sunriver Marketplace, one of Sunriver’s two full-service grocery stores.
• Discover Sunriver, a vacation rental property management
• Hot Lava Baking & Coffee Company, Sunriver’s local bakery that makes pastries, donuts, breads, cakes,sandwiches and coffee for breakfast and lunch.
• Riptide Café, an indoor and outdoor restaurant at SHARC.
• Sun Country Tours, providing guided whitewater rafting excursions
• Brewed Awakenings, locally-roasted artisan coffee, pastries, smoothies, ice cream.
• Tumbleweed Toys,a toy and board game retailer
• West of the Moon, sells handcrafted items from around the world
• South Bend Bistro,fresh contemporary American cuisine with French and Italian influences
• Cascara Vacation Rental,a vacation rental property management
• Sunriver Resort, provides spa, golf, recreation and hotel accommodations and vacation rental homes

“Sunriver has a lot of summer employment to offer,” said Shawn Cannon, SROA recreation department director. “Spring break is when a lot of young adults start thinking ahead to their summer. We are happy to facilitate meetings between employers and job seekers at the job fair, help young people find summer jobs and help Sunriver businesses ramp up for the busy summer ahead.”

Who is the Sunriver Owners Association?
The Sunriver Owners Association (SROA) is the governing body for Sunriver, which is a planned community consisting of:
