10 Barrel to Release Rose Haven Stout in PDX in Support of Shelter on International Women’s Day

0

In anticipation of International Women’s Day on March 8, 10 Barrel Brewing has teamed up with Rose Haven Day Shelter in Portland to brew a new Rose Haven Stout. All proceeds from the sale of this new beer will go directly to Rose Haven, marking the shelter’s first charity partnership of the year.

Rose Haven is the only day shelter and community center supporting women, children and marginalized genders in Portland. Oregon holds the torch for the second-highest rate of homelessness, and Rose Haven’s holistic approach aims to disrupt the structures that allow that to happen through radical hospitality, advocacy on an individual and community level and meaningful connections to resources. Rose Haven’s grand opening and ribbon cutting will be on International Women’s Day on March 8.

10 Barrel is proud to support this incredible organization through the sale of a delicious new style — Rose Haven Stout — brewed and sold exclusively at the 10 Barrel Portland pub. This brew collaboration is the brainchild of the female brewers at 10 Barrel who are passionate about actively doing their part to lift up other women in their community. The brew-masterpiece itself was developed by award-winning brewermaster, Whitney Burnside at the PDX facility. And while we’re celebrating women (and beer), we’d be remiss not to also shout out to 10 Barrel Bend’s brewmaster, Tonya Cornett! Tonya collaborated with Whitney on the recipe for Rose Haven Stout before the brewing began. (Side note for a humble brag: Between these decorated brewmasters representing the 10 Barrel contingent of badass, boss-ladies who brew, they have accrued ten medals for their beers in 2021 alone. These women kick butt and take names in the industry, one creation at a time.)

Portland locals may support the center through the purchase of 10 Barrel Rose Haven Stout at their Portland pub, and by dining in at the pub for 10 Barrel’s International Women’s Day celebration on March 8 from 6-10pm. Proceeds will be donated to Rose Haven.
