Economic Development for Central Oregon (EDCO), host of the annual Bend Venture Conference (BVC), has secured the participation of Cascade Angels Fund, LLC., who will be investing $121,900 in this year’s winner. Combined with investments from the Oregon Growth Account and Oregon Community Foundation, of $50,000 and $25,000 respectively, the 2014 BVC Fund is poised to be the biggest ever.
The 2014 Bend Venture Conference will take place at the iconic Tower Theatre on October 17 with warm-up activities on Thursday, October 16 including seminars, the UnConference, and the Broken Top Networking reception.
Cascade Angels Fund 2014, LLC involvement is an exciting change from years past. “We are pleased to make this investment. There are many great startups participating and making local capital available is key to creating successful growth” said Julie Harrelson, Cascade Angels Fund Manager.
“The angels are the behind-the-scenes investors who make the BVC what it is. EDCO is thrilled that Harrelson is a part of the fast-moving network of ideas, capital, mentorship, and talent that the BVC brings together. Their investment will directly help launch a startup from an early stage company to a scalable, funded venture” said Brian Vierra, EDCO Venture Catalyst.
The conference is divided into two categories that consist of five launch and five concept stage companies vying for investment and cash prizes. The concept stage finalists compete for a $10,000 cash prize from BendBroadband while the launch finalist could collect a $250,000+ investment. Ticket sales for attendance to the conference are now open.
