Bend-La Pine District Improvements

In addition to the new schools built this year, the 2013 School Bond Measure is funding a number of additional improvements throughout the Bend-La Pine District, including:

CURRENT  PROJECTS

• Kenwood Elementary School
(Highland Magnet)
Budget: $4.08 million
Repair parking and playground asphalt, replace fence, renovate classrooms and hallways and remodel/expansion of kitchen.

• RE Jewell Elementary School
Budget: $977,137
Remodel all restrooms including new stalls and sinks, create storage and restrooms in the gym, install shower for life skills program, install skylight in activity room and replace North playground asphalt.

• Bend Senior High School
Budget: $4.97 million
Paint exterior of building, art room remodel, replace exterior single pane windows in A, B and C halls, replace modular with permanent classrooms, resurface track, replace stadium poles and lights, add soccer field, remove and replace tennis courts, and reconfigure library.

• La Pine High School
Budget: $3.1 million
Remodel existing science labs, construct soccer field, upgrade hallways, replace windows that have broken seals, resurface track, stabilize asphalt edges, replace bleachers in main gym, add DDC system to the remainder of the building, repair asphalt parking lot, replace D-wing roof, replace cove base, replace stadium poles and lights, reroof single ply and cover dumpsters.

FUTURE PROJECTS

• Juniper Elementary School
Budget: $1.6 million
Campus security fencing, replace boiler system, upgrade controls and ductwork, replace and repaint siding, replace asphalt at playground, repair asphalt at parking lot, replace single pane windows, replace building E roof, replace gym floor, remodel/expand kitchen.

• Thompson Elementary School
(Amity Creek Magnet)
Budget: $1.7 million
Replace boiler system, upgrade controls, ductwork and plumbing in the custodial room, replace all windows, replace exterior and gym doors, renovate restrooms and add staff restrooms, fire sprinkler building, kitchen expansion and provide storage for cafeteria tables.

• La Pine Elementary School, La Pine Middle School
Budget: $1.5 million
Elementary: Repair parking lot asphalt, repair/replace playground asphalt, computer lab walls.
Middle School: Remodel restrooms, add paving at rear of school, widen West drive, replace classroom floor coverings, replace cove base throughout the school, heated sidewalk at the front entry and replace gym bleachers.

• Pilot Butte Middle School
Budget: $2.25 million
Replace roof on B & D buildings and locker room, remodel boys and girls locker rooms, replace floor covering as needed, replace and repair siding as necessary, remodel restrooms, resurface track, install snowmelt at building A stairs, replace stage curtains.

• Education Center
Budget: $3 million
New boilers, upgrade electrical service, boiler/data/storage outbuilding, remove replace south parking lot.
