St. Charles Hospice, Robberson Ford and St. Charles Foundation invite the community to attend the 24th annual hospice Christmas auction, Vintage Christmas on December 4-5.

A fundraiser to provide charity and unreimbursed care to St. Charles hospice and transition patients, the auction will feature beautifully ornamented trees, exquisitely crafted new and heirloom quilts and a great array of unique items, baskets and packages for bid.

“The Annual Christmas auction provides funding to support the transitions program, a respite care fund, and complementary therapies including, massage therapy and acupuncture,” said Sharon Strohecker, director of St. Charles Hospice. “In addition, funding supports Lifeline and specialized medical equipment to assist with the comfort and safety of our patients and their families.”

To accommodate an expected 500 attendees, the auction will once again be held at the Crook County Fairgrounds indoor arena.

“Last year’s auction was an incredible show of how the community comes together to support hospice,” said Lisa Dobey, executive director of St. Charles Foundation. “We are fortunate to have a community comprised of individuals and businesses who invest in quality and compassionate health care.”

An open house will be held December 4 from 4 to 7pm at the indoor arena at the Crook County Fairgrounds. The main event — dinner and the live and silent auctions — will take place December 5 at 5pm. Tickets are $15 per person if purchased in advance online, and $20 at the door. Reserved tables are $300.

“No one wants to miss out on the creative visions of the Christmas trees, quilts and heartwarming messages to the community and those in honor and memory of loved ones,” said event coordinator Shannon Kirkbride. “Every ornament, stitch and bid contributed is a testament to how meaningful the hospice and transitions programs are to residents throughout Central Oregon.”
