Last week we celebrated our annual Accomplished Under 40 award recipients. In normal times, we would have attended an awards celebration at the Oxford Hotel — gathering Central Oregon’s up-and-coming business leaders and community activists for a fun, casual event, highlighting these amazing young people. This year, however, we hosted a “Zoom Toast,” with the hope that we will invite this amazing group of influencers to the party in 2021. You can read the profiles of this year’s recipients by clicking here.

There were nearly 50 nominations in 2020. This is more than we’ve ever had before in the 15 years that we’ve been giving out these awards. This made the process of choosing the winners exceptionally difficult. While most everyone nominated was deserving, we had to select 25 recipients. When it came down to it, one of the factors that set folks apart was — first and foremost — community service. Other factors, such as age and number of times nominated, helped decide the close calls. If you nominated someone and they weren’t selected, please nominate them again next year! And THANK YOU for nominating!

Many thanks to U.S. Bank for sponsoring Accomplished Under 40. They realize the importance of the next generations forging our future, and recognizing them for their contributions to our communities and society as a whole. Thank you Bend Chamber and the incredible members of the Young Entrepreneurs Network (YPN), who helped spread the word to honor these young accomplished members of our community.

Congratulations Accomplished Under 40 2020!!

by Wendy McGrane — Vice President/Commercial Banking Team Leader, U.S. Bank & 2009 Accomplished Under 40 Winner

In the words of late Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, “If you want to be a true professional, do something outside yourself.” This year’s Accomplished Under 40 winners exemplify such professionalism. They were selected amongst an impressive slate of nominees for their outstanding professional accomplishments, coupled with their extraordinary community involvement and unique leadership skills.

Our local U.S. Bank team is proud to support this kind of recognition honoring accomplished professionals working to make positive contributions in our communities — because when they succeed, we all succeed. This year’s cohort joins a notable group of past recipients, some of which have become our most influential leaders in Central Oregon today.

Six months into our new normal of COVID-19, I am continually inspired by stories of adaptability and resilience among so many stakeholders here in Central Oregon. And, I am grateful that many of our leaders have found new ways to carry on important community traditions, including this Accomplished Under 40 recognition. U.S. Bank has also adapted to support the changing needs of our clients and our communities, and our local team welcomes the possibility of supporting more businesses and individuals seeking to reach their goals during these unusual times.

Please join U.S. Bank in congratulating this year’s recipients for all they are doing to make Central Oregon a better place for everyone to live, work and play. We look forward to watching their accomplishments and community contributions continue to make positive impacts in the years ahead, especially as these individuals further develop their unique leadership potential. As Ruth Bader Ginsburg also said, “Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you.”
