Aging Better, Together

0

In 45 years of serving Deschutes, Jefferson and Crook counties, the Council on Aging of Central Oregon (CoA) has never witnessed a greater need for caregiving, nutrition and social connection as we have during the last 18 months of the pandemic.

Keeping Central Oregon seniors healthy, safe and connected is more difficult than ever. Access to healthy food, medical resources, cost of living increases and other factors has significantly impacted their ability to live on fixed and limited incomes. Feelings of isolation and loneliness have escalated the problem; caregivers need a break and, hundreds of seniors need more nutritious meals.

It’s been a struggle, but fortunately, CoA has been able to respond. Thanks to our committed staff and 450 volunteers, we’re working diligently to reduce isolation and loneliness, nutrition risk and food insecurity. We’re making home a safe place, providing access to healthy food, medical resources and opportunities for older adults to feel valued and able to participate in the neighborhoods in which they live.

How can you help the seniors we serve? Every dollar you donate will add to the services we can deliver. There are still more older adults in Central Oregon who need our help. Your contributions to the CoA help make it possible to provide more nutritious Meals-on-Wheels and our free Grab-N-Go lunches to those older adults who need our help most.

Whether you are an individual or a business, you can be a hero to an aging adult. Together we can do more. Visit councilonaging.org or call us at 541-678-5483.
