Anthony’s at the Old Mill District is very excited to announce that they are getting a fresh, new look! The restaurant will close for one week for the renovation from May 14 – May 20.

They will re-open for business on May 21, 2018. Anthony’s donated all perishable food to Family Kitchen, a non-profit organization dedicated to serving free meals to those in need, as well as their time to prepare and serve the food for lunch service at Family Kitchen on May 14.

“It was truly an honor for our team to be able to provide the food and our services to Family Kitchen today,” says Chef for Anthony’s at the Old Mill District, Gavin Bartlett. “One aspect of Anthony’s that I am so proud of is the heartfelt dedication to giving back to our communities and we could not think of a better organization than Family Kitchen to partner with. Their singular dedication to providing fellow community members with free meals that can be enjoyed in a safe space is something that touches our hearts and we are so grateful for all their hard work.”

The team from Anthony’s arrived at Family Kitchen Monday morning to begin preparing food for lunch service. They remained throughout lunch to help serve. The menu consisted of Halibut Caddy Ganty, Clam Chowder, Caesar Salad, Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Macaroni & Cheese, Blueberry Coffee Cake and Cherry Chocolate Chip Ice Cream. The amount that Anthony’s ended up donating to Family Kitchen was approximately 265 pounds of food.

About Family Kitchen:
Family Kitchen was founded in 1986 by four women from Trinity Episcopal Church who felt the need to reach out to the community after the local mill shut down. They were concerned that, with the lack of local work, there would be a need for free meals. Today, Family Kitchen serves three dinners and four lunches each week. They are averaging 4,700 meals per month and have over 300 volunteers involved in their efforts.
