Bend Habitat Breaks Ground at Parkway Village, Empire and Boyd Acres

Bend Area Habitat for Humanity recently broke ground on its new Parkway Village site at Empire Ave. and Boyd Acres Road. Bend Habitat and its volunteers will build seven new affordable homes on this site in the next year for Bend families earning between 35% and 60% of the area median income (AMI). The families who will purchase these homes will work side by side with our volunteers for 400-600 hours prior to signing a 20 year no-interest, no-profit loan.

Pieratt Development is onsite excavating the lots, preparing them for foundations. Nick Pieratt, owner, says he is proud to partner with an organization like Bend Habitat because of their contribution to this community. It takes a whole community partnering with Habitat to continue to build affordable homes for families.

Partnerships include: Sunset Plumbing, BC Concrete, Lowe’s, ProBuild, Precision Countertops, Finer Cabinetry, Brian’s Cabinets, CertainTeed, DOW, Valspar, Whirlpool, Buchanan Electric, Central Oregon Roofing, Adair Homes, Simplicity by Hayden Homes, Hayden Giving Fund, Federal Home Loan Bank, Bank of the Cascades, Consolidated Plumbing Supply, Ferguson, Shevlin Sand and Gravel and many more wonderful businesses, churches and individuals. Not to mention the hundreds of hours volunteers put in on Habitat homes.

David Love, Executive Director of Bend Habitat, remarks “We could not accomplish any of this without the generous and committed support of our friends in the community. We are so grateful for their tireless work as volunteers and for their financial support of Bend Area Habitat for Humanity.

Together, we are building a community where every person will have a stable, decent, and affordable place to call home.”
