A letter sent to cancer patients of the Bend Memorial Clinic in Redmond who live in northern Deschutes County says “staffing challenges,” meaning it does not have access to an adequate numbers of workers in Redmond, will result in the facility halting treatment for cancer beginning September 8, but patients will be able to continue to receive care in Bend, a BMC spokesperson told CBN.
People undergoing treatment with optomologists and nephrologists, and those who are taking blood thinners or are in need of lab services will continue to be seen in Redmond, the spokesperson said.
BMC says it intends to resume treatment in Redmond once its staffing issues are rectified.
