The Bethlehem Inn, Central Oregon’s largest homeless shelter, announced plans to hold a wine dinner at Johnny Carino’s Italian Grill, located at 63455 North Highway 97 in Bend, on Tuesday, July 22 from 6pm to 9pm.
Tickets are $100 per person and 100 percent of the proceeds go toward helping the Bethlehem Inn maintain its day-to-day operating budget.
The organization recently announced cost-cutting measures aimed at bolstering its cash reserves following decreased funding in 2008.
Some of the cost-cutting measures taken by Bethlehem Inn officials included reducing daytime programs to concentrate on delivering services during evening hours; temporarily eliminating the position of executive director; and requiring its board of directors to play an increased role in fundraising duties, community relations and day-to-day operations, according to information posted on the organization’s website.
