Aside from the challenging Bunny Mason design Awbrey Glen has opted to take their uniqueness a step further by introducing the GolfBoard as a unique amenity to experience the Awbrey Glen course.

In their second year of a forward-thinking Player Development Program, Tim Fraley, PGA head professional and director of player development at Awbrey Glen, says that after the inclusion of golf incentives like 15-inch cups and foot golf, members are more engaged and having more fun.

As far as introducing GolfBoards to the members, Fraley said, “I snowboard and understand the FUN factor when it comes to board sports, and this will provide a fun new element for our membership. GolfBoards are well-supported and we’ve had virtually 100 percent satisfaction. Many of our members are fired up to invite guests out to come out and experience the course on a GolfBoard. Parents with teenaged golfers or infrequent golfers are more inclined to come and use the club.”

GolfBoards are powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Conceived as an alternative to the sedentary practice of getting around the golf course sitting down in a cart, GolfBoards are more engaging and active, actually improve pace of play significantly, and the stable board platform glides along atop a four-wheel drive setup that will take you up and over even the hilliest layout you can find.

“GolfBoarding has good flow and continuity with the hills,” said Fraley. “We have arguably the most undulation in Central Oregon. A good combination of uphill, downhill, and side hill holes that will challenge golf strategy and shot making skills.”

Sounds like a perfect venue for the GolfBoard.

With their home in Bend, Oregon, Sol Boards, Inc., makers of the GolfBoard, have developed the easy-to-ride electric 4wd board that adds fun and excitement for golfers of all ages and athletic abilities. For more information about GolfBoard, visit www.golfboard.com, or call 888-328-2841.
