Bend Area Habitat for Humanity Recruiting Volunteers for Build Trip to Trinidad and Tobago

0

Join Bend Area Habitat for Humanity on a build trip to Port of Spain, Trinidad, November 5-13, 2016. Bend Habitat has 12 volunteer spots for motivated volunteers who want to have an amazing experience in a different culture and help low income families in Trinidad and Tobago. For more information on this amazing trip, attend a Trinidad and Tobago Interest Meeting on Wednesday, April 20.

Volunteers will help build a concrete block home for a Habitat family near Port of Spain. Volunteers will have the opportunity to work alongside the future homeowners and learn about the culture.

The team will be led by two staff from Bend Area Habitat for Humanity as part of a larger Global Village community of building projects across the world.  Get your hands dirty on the work site, meet families whose housing situations have been improved with Habitat’s help, experience the country like an insider and do it all alongside a team of like-minded volunteers. This build is your next step with Habitat to help make the world a better place to live. No experience is necessary.

The trip will include five days of building as well as opportunities for cultural experiences including dancing and steel pan lessons, museum and historical tours, beaches and more. The cost is $1,860 per person plus airfare.

For more information on this amazing trip, please join us for a Trinidad and Tobago Interest Meeting on Wednesday, April 20 at 5:30 p.m. at the Bend Area Habitat office, 1860 NE 4th Street, Bend, OR 97701. To RSVP, contact Amber Morey, amorey@bendhabitat.org, 541.385.5387.
