Bend-based Ripclear Donates COVID-19 Face Shields to Portland Fire & Rescue

Ripclear, makers of the most advanced protective film for outdoor sports eyewear, has announced it is donating 300 V1 face shields to Portland Fire & Rescue (PF&R). The donation is being made to support the department by providing certified PPE equipment to frontline responders.

The Ripclear V1 Face Shield is designed to protect personnel battling the COVID-19 outbreak including fire fighters, emergency/EMS workers, nurses, police and other frontline staff. The V1 shield allows personnel to safely and effectively do their work while staying protected via a certified medical face shield. It is designed to be used in conjunction with a mask that covers the nose and mouth.

Each shield is 32×22 cm and is 0.3 mm in thickness. The face shields are conveniently stackable and travel easily. The Ripclear V1 Face Shields are FDA, CE and ISO 9001 certified, and includes anti-glare, anti-fingerprint and scratch-resistant features. It is meant to be worn for temporary use, much like a pair of disposable gloves. The clear face shield covers the entire face, from above the hairline to below the chin.
