Do you know a business or nonprofit with an amazing success story to tell? If so, it’s time to send in a nomination for the 2016 Bend Chamber Star Award for Greatness & Excellence (SAGE) Business Awards. Nominations must be received by 5pm on August 1.
Since 1989, the Bend Chamber has recognized the outstanding efforts and achievements of its members for their contributions in their local communities, and to our region’s economy. Every day, they’re working to grow their businesses, create 21st century jobs, drive innovation and increase Oregon’s global competitiveness.
Award Categories include:
Lifetime Achievement Award – Winners have shown long-term active engagement in our community and have made significant positive economic impacts locally.
Citizen of the Year – This award is for someone with great integrity who has continuously demonstrated a leadership role in one or several community organizations and has shown a commitment to serve the well-being of others.
Large Business of the Year – A local business, with 31 or more employees, is recognized through this award. To qualify, a business should have a strong community presence and exemplary operational successes.
Small Business of the Year – This award showcases a small business with 30 or fewer employees. This business should exemplify a strong community presence and noteworthy operational successes.
New & Emerging Business of the Year – Through this award, an emerging-growth company that has demonstrated a capacity for creativity and innovation, experienced growth and established itself as a leader in its industry, is honored.
Nonprofit Organization of the Year – An established nonprofit organization that demonstrates excellence in five major areas – role in society, financial stability, fundraising, marketing and strategic alliances – all in the pursuit of its mission, is recognized through this award.
Healthy Workplace of the Year – This award is designed to recognize organizations for their efforts to foster employee health and well-being while enhancing organizational performance.
Entrepreneur of the Year – This award, recognizes the accomplishments and operational successes of a local business and individual who contributes to the social, cultural and economic well-being of their community.
People Choice – The People’s Choice Award is presented to a business that can demonstrate its unwavering and loyal support from the community. All nominees are entered into the People’s Choice Award Category.
