Bend Design 2019, presented by ScaleHouse in Bend, takes over downtown Bend October 23-26. Among the most anticipated Bend Design workshop fan favorites is the progressive Design Equity Tournament on October 26 at the centrally located Liberty Arts Collaborative. Partnering with Visible Alliance for the second year, participants will bring their branding and design chops to help design a logo for OUT Central Oregon ’s monthly film festival with BendFilm. OUT Central Oregon is committed to developing events to encourage and support community involvement that promote inclusivity, visibility and equality for the local lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and Q+ community.

This tournament is sponsored by DEI Creative. Register at benddesign.scalehouse.org/session/design-equity-tournament.

What could the future look like? Bend Design gathers the people, inspiration and tools needed to shape it together. Every October, it convenes creative thinkers from a diverse range of practices and professions for talks, shows, workshops, screenings and problem-solving sessions. And let’s not forget the parties, meetups and dinner conversations. Bend Design’s intimate, welcoming atmosphere enables the leaders of tomorrow to engage with the exceptional, experienced creatives of today. Participants make connections, collaborate on projects and learn new skills. Together we explore how creative thinking and practices can lift our lives, communities and the wider world.

2019 conference partners include Hydro Flask, Old Mill District, Crahmánti, Plazm, Source Weekly, Caldera, Kwik Lok, Terris Draheim, Cascade Business News, Bend Chamber, Central Oregon Daily, NEWS CHANNEL 21, Bend Magazine, The Bulletin, Bend Furniture & Design, Hand in Hand Productions, 1859, buzztag, Wild Alchemy, The Oxford Hotel, Ghost Village Films, Brooks Resources Corporation, BBT Architects, Oregon Public Broadcasting, Oregon State University Cascades, PicMonkey, The Fixture Gallery, At Liberty Arts Collective, The Round House Foundation and Tin Pan Theater.
