Bend, Oregon-based Entrepreneur Brings New Board Game to Market through Kickstarter

Andrew Hunzicker has a unique idea for a new board game, Capture A Medieval War Game, and is on his way to getting it funded through Kickstarter with 20 days left to raise $25,000. (Kickstarter is a global crowdfunding platform that is helping to bring creative projects to life reportedly receiving more than $1.5 billion in pledges from 7.8 million backers to fund 80,000 creative projects, which range from films, music, and stage shows, to comics, journalism, board and video games, and food-related projects.)

Hunzicker explains that the game was 30 years in the making and was actually reviewed by Parker Bros 20 years ago. “We have 20 days left in the campaign to raise $25,000 and we have $9,500 already pledged (160 backers). A $39 pledge gets you an actual fineold fashioned board game. Only 5 percent of all Kickstarter campaigns have ever raised $25,000 or more so the bar is set high, but that is the cost needed to make these high quality games.

” I’m doing a donation of 50 percent match to Smith Rocks Group (a nonprofit that cares for Smith Rock) of pledges that share on Facebook.”

Hunzicker has been an investor in Bend Venture Conference companies and other Bend, Oregon companies including starting a new retail store with his wife called Nicole Michelle (on Newport Ave.)
