Bethlehem Inn’s Harvest for Hope

0

As the season turns, many of us are excited for the changing leaves, cooler temperatures and a visit to the pumpkin patch. Unfortunately for the community’s most vulnerable members, this time of year creates challenges in staying warm and getting much-needed nutrition.

Most Central Oregonians know that Bethlehem Inn provides critical shelter and case management support for individuals and families experiencing homelessness, but another part of the Inn’s mission is to provide nutritious meals for participants and community members in need. Last year alone, the Inn was able to provide over 100,000 meals. This requires a tremendous effort by the organization, the community and partners to ensure the families and adults get the nutrition they need.

This Fall, Bethlehem Inn is relaunching their Harvest for Hope initiative to collect food and monetary donations to support the work of their kitchen. Bethlehem Inn has partnered with businesses and schools throughout Central Oregon. Each location has a box placed in a prominent area where supporters can drop off food items. The boxes have a QR code attached that links to details about what the Inn needs and ways to get involved.

Visit the webpage bethleheminn.org/harvestforhope and see how you can donate to this project and to the individuals served by Bethlehem Inn as well as a list of where the boxes are located. Together the community can change the trajectory of someone’s life in profound and meaningful ways.

You’re an important part of this community and your involvement in the Harvest for Hope initiative is one more example of how you’ve shown up for Central Oregon.
