Bonta Gelato, the Bend-based maker of award-winning desserts, announces the opening of its newest location on bustling Galveston Avenue. This marks the third Bonta Gelato scoop shop in Bend and showcases the company’s exciting new branding, which is inspired by a local spirit of adventure and the great outdoors.

After opening to friends and family last weekend, the Galveston Avenue location opens to the public on Friday, May 24 at 11am. For one day only all scoops will be 50% off. Located at the intersection of Galveston Avenue and Federal Street — next to 10 Barrel Brewing’s Westside Pub and less than a five minute walk from iconic Drake Park — the new scoop shop is perfectly situated to serve both locals and visitors with its array of made-from-scratch artisanal flavors.

“Bonta Gelato has always been a celebration of Bend by a team of people who live, work, and play here,” said Corey Owens, CEO of Bonta Gelato. “We pasteurize Oregon milk and cream in our Eastside Creamery, and we serve residents and visitors alike downtown and now on Galveston Avenue. This is an exciting new chapter for a storied Bend brand.”

The Galveston Avenue scoop shop highlights Bonta’s refreshed branding which reflects the natural beauty and adventurous spirit of Central Oregon. The interior was designed by Blue Forty Architecture, the build-out was led by KellCon Construction, and the branding was designed by Magpie Studio / Fried Cactus Creative Studio.

Bonta Gelato has been making gelato from scratch in Bend since 2011. Bonta Gelato is available at our scoop shops, and in grocery stores from Portland to Klamath Falls, including Albertsons, Safeway, Market of Choice, Whole Foods, Newport Avenue Market and Sunriver Country Store. Bonta is a proud member of 1% for the Planet and is a sponsor of the Deschutes Land Trust and the High Desert Museum.
