Search Team Brian Girard and Keila have deployed with their task force to North Carolina as part of the deployment for Hurricane Dorian. Keila was a shelter dog at BrightSide who was selected for search dog training.

“We are monitoring the situation closely as Dorian began impacting the eastern United States earlier this week,” said Sylvia Stoney of the Search Dog Foundation. “Regardless of its exact path, meteorologists predict there will be intense winds, storm surge and rainfall, which has the potential to cause significant damage to the region.”

In addition to teams now on the East Coast, the Search Dog Foundation also has four Los Angeles-based search teams deployed to the Bahamas after Hurricane Dorian devastated the region in the last few days.
