Local Advisory Group Seeks Medicaid Clients

Health care leaders in Central Oregon have been listening to Medicaid patients since 2011, and they want to add more voices. The Community Advisory Council (CAC) closes the gap between patients and providers and advocates for the health care needs of the community. CAC members, including several Medicaid clients, have the ear of PacificSource Community Solutions, the insurer in charge of Medicaid for Central Oregon. The CAC is organized by the Central Oregon Health Council, a local leader in health care.

“Speaking up about your health care benefits doesn’t have to be scary or complicated,” says MaCayla Arsenault, who helps run the CAC. “We do our best to take the mystery out of it for people.”

The group is open to anyone who is on Medicaid, and their guardians, who live in Central Oregon. The CAC is also open to people who do not speak English. “We are looking for new members because we know there are people out there whose voices we haven’t heard,” says Arsenault. See below for details on how to join.
