Everyone is invited to Maty, the Humane Society of Central Oregon’s tri-pawed ambassador’s 15th birthday party on Saturday, November 28 at the shelter (61170 SE 27th Street in Bend) from 11am to 2pm. Have a barktastic time enjoying birthday cake, refreshments, pawtographed photos, photo booth fun and a raffle.
The first 40 guests will receive a Turbo Pup bar. Help us celebrate Maty’s 15 years of service to the community as the Humane Society’s outreach and education dog. Maty’s life of adventures and Frisbee dog accomplishments demonstrates the abilities of disabled animals, and the potential of all shelter animals. Maty has been featured on Animal Planet, in books, magazines and worldwide via the internet.
A special guest, 17 year old Galaxy, of JD Platt’s K9 Kings Flying Disc Dog Show and featured on the CBS reality show Greatest American Dog, will join the celebration of life during Adopt a Senior Month.
Highlights of Maty’s life include being the first and only three-legged dog to compete in the Skyhoundz World Canine Disc Championships in 2006 and 2008, being the inspiration for a children’s book series, Mimi and Maty to the Rescue featured in Dog Fancy, People Magazine, Daily Mail, Disc Dogs! The Complete Guide, and meeting celebrities like Zoe Saldana and Kim Basinger.
