With gathering restrictions lifting in Deschutes County, we’re excited to announce that this month’s PubTalk will be held in-person for a very limited number of people at McMenamins, in addition to our virtual program and virtual networking. We know some people feel comfortable being in-person and some, maybe not just yet. So whatever you’re feeling, join us as we present the second PubTalk of 2021.

As many have realized over the past year, remote work is becoming the new norm for more than a few companies and industries. The geographical boundaries that may have limited growth before are no longer proving to be the same barrier. Companies in Bend and Central Oregon have a unique opportunity to build communities that are geo-agnostic, those that might not have been able to do so before the pandemic. No longer is meeting for coffee in-person a prerequisite for receiving funding or landing a job.

Evan Witte’s keynote will give some insight as to why more remote places like Central Oregon are no longer seen as a second-tier location. We can (and will successfully) compete with bigger cities like San Francisco, Seattle…and Portland.
