The Central Oregon Association of Realtors (COAR) Charitable Giving committee voted to donate $1,000 to Volunteers in Medicine (VIM). Susanna Abrahamson, COAR Board Member and Broker at Duke Warner Realty says, “Affordable healthcare is not available to everyone, but sometimes everyone needs medical attention. Volunteers in Medicine helps fill the need for people who may not be able to get the medical care they need from other places. We understand that need and appreciate their hard work and dedication to helping Central Oregonians stay healthy and live better lives.”
Patient care is donated to VIM by qualified medical professionals and supported by trained lay-person volunteers. For every patient served, VIM must raise $832 to cover cash expenses. This includes salaries to oversee, recruit and train medical and non-medical volunteers; IT support; utilities; building maintenance; electronic medical records system; pharmacy software; and insurance. These funds will support VIM in this way.
The Central Oregon Association of REALTORS exists to enhance its member’s ability and opportunity to operate successfully in all real estate markets, through professional standards, educational services, information networks, and collective community and political influence.
