The City Club of Central Oregon October forum will focus on Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) systems and how they could impact local elections. RCV elections in Alaska, New York City and Maine gained national attention. In Oregon, Portland will be voting on implementing an RCV system next month, Benton County put it in place several years ago and the Corvallis City Council election will use it this year.

The forum will explore how RCV works, the advantages and drawbacks, how it impacts candidates and how it could impact Central Oregon elections.

Speakers:

  • Neil O’Brian — Assistant Professor of Political Science, University of Oregon
  • Jeff Eager — President, Insite LocalGovAffairs.com
  • Mike Alfoni — CoFounder, Ranked Choice Voting Oregon
