The Council on Aging of Central Oregon is partnering with a local personal trainer to offer free bodywork and massages to WinterFest attendees during the weekend-long festival in Bend, February 15 to 17. The nonprofit’s presence at the event will focus on getting the broader community involved in making Central Oregon “age friendly” and supporting the growing older adult population with advocacy, policies and infrastructure.
“We are all aging, and the people we love are aging,” said Susan Rotella, executive director of the Council on Aging. “Caring for our older adult neighbors and family members requires an intergenerational effort. The Winterfest audience includes families and younger adults, so it’s a perfect place for us to connect with the next generation of residents who can further ensure that aging in Central Oregon is defined by independence, dignity and well-being.”
Ben Entermann of REVIVE Bodywork and Personal Training is donating his consultation services for the event and will be offering free samples of bodywork and massage treatments, while providing information on common issues such as low back pain, sciatica and general mobility limitations that influence joint pain and dysfunction.
Festival attendees who stop by the Council on Aging booth can sign up for a free bodywork consultation by “liking” the Council on Aging’s Facebook page or signing up to volunteer.
