At the Council on Aging of Central Oregon, our mission is to help all Central Oregonians age well wherever and however they choose. We empower, advocate for, and provide services to older adults and their loved ones. Our programs include Meals on Wheels and community dining, Medicare and long-term planning support, family caregiver services, and opportunities for connection through Caring Connections and Pet Pals. As the region’s aging experts, we ensure older adults have access to the resources they need across the tri-county area.
Between 2023 and 2024, we delivered 134,471 Meals on Wheels and served 43,842 community lunches across Central Oregon. Our resource specialists answered 6,079 calls for information and referrals, while case managers provided 8,830 hours of home and personal care services and 658 hours of paid respite for caregivers. We also provided more than 1,250 hours of Medicare counseling, matched 63 clients with Caring Connections companions, and delivered pet food, supplies, and veterinary care to 117 clients with 169 pets.
None of this would be possible without the commitment of our volunteers and donors. Their generosity strengthens our community and ensures older adults can thrive in Central Oregon. If you’d like to be part of this work, we invite you to join our volunteer team. You’ll find a welcoming community and the chance to make a real difference in the lives of your neighbors.
