If you own property in Deschutes County, you’re familiar with recent real estate market value “ups-and-downs” during the last few years. Through upcoming town hall meetings, Deschutes County Assessor Scot Langton, wants to prepare you for an interesting combination of Measure 50 consequences, market fluctuation and current economic circumstances.
Scot and his staff will hold property tax town hall meetings October 29 through November 6 in La Pine, Bend, Sisters and Redmond. At the meetings, the public is welcome to ask questions about the property tax process, their property tax bills and anything else related to the topic.
All property tax meetings will be held from 5-6:30pm at the following locations:
1. Sisters, Nov. 3, City Council Chambers, 520 E Cascade
2. La Pine, Oct. 29, La Pine City Hall, 51340 Hwy. 97
3. Redmond, Nov. 6, Redmond Fire Hall, 341 NW Dogwood Ave.
4. Bend, Nov. 5, Deschutes Services Center, Barnes/Sawyer Room, 1300 NW Wall St.
Additionally, the County has come up with an easy way for you to review your own tax situation on-line. A creative video called “Graph It!” has been produced to help you understand how Oregon’s voter approved Measure 50 impacts your property.
