EDCO’S Next PubTalk Features Jonathan Downey, USA Today’s Small Business Innovator of the Year & Founder of Airware

The March 24 Pub Talk hosted by Economic Development for Central Oregon (EDCO) features Jonathan Downey, USA Today’s 2015 Small Business Innovator of the Year and Founder/CEO of San Francisco-based Airware. Program to focus on the commercial drone industry.

March PubTalk will feature keynote speaker Jonathan Downey, Founder/CEO of Airware, a San Francisco-based company that has developed an operating system for commercial drones, allowing enterprises to take full advantage of aerial data for any commercial application. In 2015, Downey was named USA Today’s Small Business Innovator of the Year for his company’s success in the commercial drone industry.

The program will also include company pitches from:

  • Ben Berry of AirShip Technologies Group, a company that designs and manufactures long flight endurance, clean tech, unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) for first responders and commercial and military markets
  • Grant Canary, CEO of DroneSeed, a company whose mission is to reduce the costs of replanting by at least 10x by using drones
  • Brian Whiteside, co-founder of Complier Enterprise, a new company created through the merger of VDOS and RPAS Training and Solutions offering global drone enterprise support

“EDCO is looking to raise the bar once again on our PubTalk event by bringing in Jonathan Downey, one of the most sought after speakers in the commercial drone industry,” said Brian Vierra, EDCO Venture Catalyst. “This PubTalk will attract some of the most exciting early stage UAS/UAV companies in the state.”
