Applications are open now until December 15, 2015 at 5pm for Facebook Community Action Grants in Crook County, Oregon. Grants will be awarded in the early spring of 2016.
The Facebook Community Action Grants Program, established in 2011, is committed to investing in the long-term health and vitality of Crook County and its residents by supporting qualified nonprofits that meet critical community needs.
Grant Guidelines
• Facebook grants are available for short-term, high-impact projects that address critical community needs within Crook County by putting the power of technology to use for community benefit, connecting people online or off, improving education and promoting local economic development. We’re looking for big, new ideas that will further improve our communities in Crook County and leverage other funders and volunteers.
• The maximum grant amount per recipient is $15,000.
• Groups may apply for one grant per 501(c)(3) registration. You can apply for a grant without federal tax-exempt status, either as a 501(c)(3) public charity, an IRC 787 Federally-recognized Indian Tribe, or a government entity, but you must have a qualified fiscal sponsor who does have appropriate tax-exempt status. If you are expecting to be granted nonprofit status and yet do not have a fiscal sponsor, you may not apply.
• Grant applications will be accepted until midnight December 15, 2015.
• Facebook community grants are intended for nonprofit and certain public organizations. We cannot fund for-profit companies through this program.
• Eligible organizations must have a Facebook page. This requirement does not extend to personal pages. To create a Facebook page for your organization prior to submitting your grant applications, please visit facebook.com/pages/create.php
• The funds allocated should be used during a specific time period and have demonstrable metrics that can be publicly reported. We will ask for a semi-annual report of how the funds are being used and their impact, as well as photos of your project that we can share on our Facebook page.
Not eligible for Facebook community grants:
• Ongoing programs and operational expenses.
• Organizations whose mission or activities include proselytizing on behalf of any religion.
• Organizations that discriminate based on race, age, gender, political ideology, faith, national origin, sexual orientation, disability or national original.

• If you receive a grant, you may not seek another grant for the same project for three years.
As a company built on an ethos of constant innovation, Facebook will look to reward the most innovative, action-oriented proposals. We will also support proposals that have:
• Excellent potential for community benefit.
• Activities that can be shared, replicated, scaled up to increase impact, and leveraged to build additional financial support.
