Focusing on adult health, fitness and wellness topics, the Bend Senior Center is hosting the “For the Health of It” Health & Wellness Fair on Tuesday, September 22 from noon to 3pm. Held on the lawns of Larkspur Park adjacent to the facility, the event is free to the public and will offer numerous health screenings including balance testing, hearing testing, acupuncture screenings, vital sign monitoring, body fat testing and blood pressure monitoring.
The health fair will also feature mini shoulder massages, local health practitioner and healthy food information and demonstrations and the event’s seasonal tradition of flu shots. Flu shots are $14.99 or free with a Medicare, Regence Blue Cross-Blue Shield, Humana, PacificSource Medicare, Providence, Moda or PacficSource insurance card. Patrons are to bring their insurance card – if a co-payment is required, they should be prepared to pay on site.
Attendees are invited to enjoy a free, healthybarbecue lunch hosted by Pacific Source Medicare from 12:30-1:30pm.
Part of the senior center’s recognition of National Senior Center Month, the fair is produced in partnership with St. Charles Health System, Humana, Stone Lodge Retirement, PacificSource Medicare, Home Instead Senior Care, Providence Medicare and Whispering Winds Retirement.

The event features free parking. Due to road construction on Reed Market Road, attendees are encouraged to access the Senior Center via 15th Street and Reed Market or use alternative transportation.
